The buildings and homes here date all the way back to the Venetian era. And just on the outskirts of Chania are found some of the islands most spectacular beaches. Music and dance abounds at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus Theatre as performers from all over the world entertain the crowds. During the Hellenic Festival, lovers of popular music can take in a concert atop Lykavittos Hill, while theater enthusiasts will find a wonderful show at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. The Little Theatre of Epidaurus cannot be forgotten, as it hosts entertaining plays as well.
