One of the oldest sites in Xi’an is the Banpo Museum, the site of a six thousand year old Neolithic matriarchal community. Back in the city, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is thirteen hundred years old, offers views of 21st century Xi’an from atop its seven stories. That evening, enjoy a traditional folk performance depicting court life and social customs at the Tang Dynasty Show. You will also enjoy the dumpling buquet and Tang cultural show at Sunshine Rerauraunt. On your second day, visit the Shaanxi History Museum, with artifacts dating to as early as the Qin Dynasty and including stone tools, pottery, bronze vessels, terracotta figures, and scroll paintings. Then spend some time on the City Wall of Xi’an, the oldest and best preserved in China. End your tour at the Bell and Drum Towers, where the bell was stricken at sunrise and the drum at sunset to indicate the end of the day.
